Then I spent time lurking and trolling, reading and scrolling.
My dominant impression: there’s a whole lot of huckstering going on.
Hence, the following invitation:
Please join me today (and every Wednesday until further notice) in unfollowing at least one clamorous social media huckster who is ruining the twittersphere (and poisoning the content marketing space) with incessant tweets of formulaic headlines and links to vapid blog posts that are nothing more than recycled and reshuffled pabulum.
You know the type.
Their headlines look like this:
[number] Secrets To Success In [social_network_here]
[number] Common Mistakes [Bloggers | Facebook Admins | Marketers | etc.] Make
[number] Absolutely Essential Resources For [something]
Taka a stand with me and let these people know you won’t reinforce their cynical attempts to game the system of online reputation building by teaching others how to game the system of online reputation building.
Let others know whom you’ve unfollowed by posting their Twitter handles along with the hashtag #SayNo2Hucksters.
Here… I started:

PS: Earn extra points for unfollowing anyone listed as one of the Top Social Media Power Influencers of 2013 by Forbes.
PPS: Don’t limit your unfollowing to Wednesdays.
The nSiteful Tech Blog (the official blog of nSiteful Web Builders, Inc. since January of 2013) is where I (Jeff Cohan) and (occasionally) associates will be posting articles of potential interest to like-minded techies, nSiteful clients who are playing active roles in the maintenance of their own Web sites and blogs, and pretty much anyone interested in how Web strategies and tools can help them reach their goals.
